This Foster & Partners designed building fronting Finsbury Square was completed in 2000. The existing building is arranged over lower ground, part ground and seven upper floors with a substantial roof terrace at sixth floor overlooking the square. The retail element of the property consists of four shop units situated on Finsbury Pavement.
50 Finsbury Square is within close proximity of Moorgate Station which provides National Rail services and access to the Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Circle lines. Liverpool Street Station is also a short walk away, providing National Rail services to East Anglia and access to the Central and Jubilee lines. Liverpool Street Station will also soon see a new entrance at Moorgate, which will provide access to the Elizabeth line.
In June 2020, we obtained planning consent to comprehensively refurbish the building and reposition it in the market with an emphasis on flexibility, sustainability, technology and wellbeing. The development comprises a new entrance on Finsbury Square with an integrated café and business lounge, new retail and leisure facilities and extended office floorplates. We have also incorporated three amenity spaces at ground level, roof top and within the atrium. The roof top will provide 4,500 sq. ft. of landscaped terrace space with views over Finsbury Square. At the base of the eight storey curved glass atrium will be a townhall space available for events and everyday agile working.
Once complete in 2022, 50 Finsbury Square will total 127,459 sq ft, comprising 117,933 sq ft of offices, 7,347 sq ft of retail and a 2,179 sq ft gym and wellness centre.
